My Vision for Keopu Mauka Lani Plantation's Kona Coffees

In 1987 I planted baby "keiki" Kona coffee trees that were about 18 inches high on most special land in North Kona.   I called it "Keopu Mauka Lani Plantation."  Since then I have made every effort to produce the finest quality products inside and out while honoring Hawaii, the Island I love, and the "Aloha Spirit" that loves me back.

Our fine Kona Coffee products are now being sold through our marketing company, Keopu Mauka Lani. It is my desire that the "Aloha Spirit" (seeing  the good in all life) will forever be a part of the ongoing production coffee trees of Keopu Mauka Lani Plantation's products as well as the successful efforts of Keopu Mauka Lani.

Keopu Mauka Lani's mission is "to educate growers, mill owners, chefs, buyers, consumers and connoisseurs of Fancy Food products the world over that Kona Coffee's smooth, clear, full-body beauty and fine quality stands second to none!

I see Keopu Mauka Lani Plantation's Kona coffee products continuing to "raise the bar" of ALL Kona Coffees, both 100% and Blends, as well as the Specialty coffees of the world. Since 1987 Keopu Mauka Lani Plantation has been a leader in upgrading packaging of Kona Coffee and producing high grade bean quality. We shall continue to be a leader in this area where quality, freshness and design all honor Hawaii and the Kona Coffee Industry.Miss Hawaii painted by Edwin Kayton

We, as Kona coffee growers, are "light years" ahead of the rest of the coffee-producing world where Fair Trade is a real issue. In Kona, coffee-picking laborers are paid about 50% of the crop value. Our Kona Coffee crops honor Hawaii by riding the "crest of the wave" of the Specialty World Coffees with its full-body, clean and naturally "smooth mouth" that finishes with a lingering sweetness.  To support, educate and upgrade the "growing of coffee with care in a natural way" and working in harmony with Nature, is part of Keopu's mission.

I see "Keopu" involved in community projects and programs of educational value from Hawaii to Mainland that elevates, informs and helps children and others reach for their visions, goals, God Given Talents and abilities...especially in the Cultural arts and in support of COPIA-The American Center of Wine, Food and the Cultural Arts, Napa, CA.
